We went to Bonn! My dad and two of his colleagues went on a business trip, and my dad let me tag along! The drive was about eight hours??
We stayed in this fancy as heck hotel. Everything in the lobby looked like it was made of gold. IT WAS SO COOL-
One of my dad's colleagues' son and (the son's) girlfriend gave me a full-day tour of the city. We went to the Christmas market, a THREE STORY BOOKSHOP (I bought myself a book and a present for my dad), as well as some other places. The subway is really similar to the one we have in my country, except the one in Germany looked much easier to navigate (idk if that's everywhere in Germany, though).
There weren't any insanely pretty buildings, but the sky scrapers were really cool. Bonn really is more of a business / financial city rather than a historical one. There were tons of Beethoven things around the city, though.
Overall, I HAD AN AMAZING TIME, AND I REALLY WANNA GO AGAIN NEXT YEAR!
The son and his girlfriend were amazing and really friendly! All of my dad's German colleagues were really friendly, welcoming, funny, and sweet as well! I honestly can't wait to see them again this October.
