            But that would make UnWinding unnecessary, since what it really was was just a way to give your kid away, and for your selfish egotistic reasons, you believed it was for a good cause.

@cravinq-rain I'd like to believe that our feelings are more than just a lump of grey matter too. In fact, I used to believe that. And then we learned about Phineas Gage in Psychology and everything changed. Maybe you're right, though. Maybe consciousness is the soul....it would make the most sense since nothing else can really describe consciousness. For example, what is it? Where do we find it? How is it formed? When is it formed? Can it be destroyed? What happens to it when you die?

            Well, Neal never really went into the soul. But I'd like to believe that you have a soul. That you know, your feelings are more than chemicals. Because I mean, I'm not a psychologist, and I don't even know what I'm saying right now, but the thing you call a conscience and your consciousness - maybe that's the soul. Because your brain is just this thing composed and grey and white matter, and there's got to be something there that tells it what to do, or else we'd all be the same.
            
            And I know! I was almost crying when I read that scene, because he didn't deserve that. Like, how you might hate someone, but you don't want them to die.

@cravinq-rain he could speak those languages and feel those emotions because of his brain. The brain tissue held all that information, like you said. Not his soul. Roland, in the end, was nothing but pure consciousness. If you think about it, we are who we are because of the brain (the thought is honestly depressing...^.^) So the only parts that remained were the unwound parts. No soul. All that was left of Roland was consciousness. So sad.... He was evil, but no one deserves that....:'(

Just like abortion! People these days might say "we would never accept unwinding" but we accepted abortion, didn't we? So, yeah, Unwinding will become a way of life. You know Neal Shusterman said that one of the things that inspired the book was the fact that scientists or whatever are finding a way to be able to transplant 100% of the human body?

@cravinq-rain I asked my mom if she would ever Unwind me....she said no, but in my mind, I called BS. She hates me. ^.^ She would soooo unwind me, and I would kick AWOL and hopefully meet my own Akron AWOL. I have a whole plan set up, see, if I was ever an AWOL. Here it is:
            Get into a random stranger's truck and beg him to let me stay.
            Get caught.
            Cause a huge accident on a freeway. 
            Us a tithe as my shield, then kidnap him.
            Shoot some Juveys with their own guns.
            Steal a storked baby.
            Fake a clapper attack.
            Meet an old lady.
            Get into the safehouse system.
            Make enemies with an asshole named Roland.
            Steal his arm, later on.
            Get into the graveyard. 
            Get into a harvest camp.
            Have a tithe blow the place up with his friends.
            Steal Roland's arm.
            Make it back to the graveyard and let the world think I'm dead.
            And all the while, maintain a relationship with my own Connor Lassiter. ^.^
            ......And that's it! I feel accomplished.

Though I'm kind of glad we don't have UnWinding - my parents probably would've sent me to a camp SO LONG AGO.
