@nicolelkh Hi! I'm thrilled you enjoyed the first book, and I'm happy to answer questions. 1. I like your interpretation of how her diet should be handled. My initial thought was to make my MC let go of her stricter diet as she got out of range of her mother's control. Not to say her mother is overbearing, only to say that her mother is a chronic-worrier. I'll have to give this some thought. 2. The guest speaker didn't go into her mind. She only channeled through her. Kalino is blind, but her intuitive powers grant her a special type of vision that comes in outlines of shapes and figures around her. And as Kalino was channeling through Vera, Vera saw what she could see. The channel broke the moment Vera opened her eyes. I'll go back and make this a little clearer. 3. Lucien leaves her places he believes her to be safe. In his mind, she shouldn't be the one who has to do the fighting or mystery-solving, especially because the mystery revolves around his own family drama. It's due to guilt and his goal to protect. 4. Book two is still in the writing phase. I'll post an update when the editing begins, and at that time the chapters can start to be posted as I complete them. I do believe it will take longer than a month so don't hold back lol. 5. When it comes to vampires in my world, they are essentially just witches who've undergone rituals to become immortal. They can go into light and they drink blood to quickly bolster their own magic, but it's not required. They're granted immortality in service to their chosen Goddess, and this includes an unnatural strength and speed. As for reading minds, I leave this to intuits instead. Vampires can be intuits, as well, but there is a clear drawback to being an intuit as a vampire (which will be explained in the second book, actually). I can't wait to post the second book, and I hope by then you'll still be around to give me feedback. Feel free to ask any questions. <3
