Okay, let's try this...

There was once a little girl named Anika who believed in fairytales and such,
but love and happy endings weren't things she saw much.
A few years later, that little girl was gone
And in her place was a teenager left undone

People said she was cheerful and bubbly whenever they encountered her
But only a few really saw what she was like after
After tossing and turning on sleepless nights
When she stays up dealing with frights

She still doesn't know who she really is
Even after she tried every little thing in the world
She still hasn't achieved pure bliss
Or flying as free as a bird

But somewhere, somehow, that little girl is still present
Still hoping, still yearning for the world not to resent
That she is the way the she is, and that will never change
Even if at first, she may seem a little deranged

Yes, she's not perfect, but she never wanted to be anyway
She has learnt to love herself, she doesn't care what anyone says
She's had her own share of mistakes, and times when she's wrong
But with life, she's learnt, that you just have to go along.
