"You sound like you're getting better. You sound… more like yourself," Nya said, glancing up at me.
"Who's that?" I said, in a joking tone. Nya smiled and ignored my rhetorical humour.
"Where to begin? You are a thinker. You think about things, allowing you to see different angles that others can't. You choose to be an optimist despite naturally being a pessimist. You love people so intensely that it can scare people away. But that's good, because those people aren't good enough for you anyways. You have so much talent, potential, and curiosity, that you make other people feel insecure about how ordinary they are. That's why people bully you, they're jealous that no matter what terrible thing you go through, you always become better than you were before. You never stop growing and you inspire others to be the best version of themselves. You have this magnetic pull inside of you that makes people want to be around you. You-"
"Woah, Nya! Don't inflate my ego too much now," I said. I thought she'd stop after the first kind word. But she kept going. Maybe she meant it when she said she could compliment me endlessly.
