I inhale books, when I read I no longer see the words I'm there, inside the story as it opens up around me. My favourites include Terry Pratchett, David Eddings, Ellie Marney, Anne McCaffrey, TMClarke, heck there's a cast of thousands that have sucked me into their worlds. I hate having to come back to reality when a book ends. 
In my day job I'm a High School Science Teacher. I have often get in trouble for blowing things up and putting holes in things that probably shouldn't have holes. One of the best feelings is seeing one of my students achieve things they never thought they could. 
I write YA SciFi and Fantasy. I dabble in other genres as well, but science fiction sucks me in every time.
