— christine, i said i— [oh] you’re not [..] what are you doing here, toren ?

i’m not saying you AREN’T here for me, i’m just saying — (her words stop voluntarily. what is she even trying to say ? with his gaze boring into her soul, her thoughts fracture & scatter into the foreign language of her mother tongue. what is there to say really, other than—) i’m FINE, alright ? i said i’m fine, so i am. i’m not helpless toren. i know how to take care of myself. (debatable. given her habits, the unopened bags full of food set atop the small table by the door, the swell of her calves & soreness of her entire body— yeah, VERY debatable. lies have always come easier to her though, & people tend to be simple to slip past. maybe that’s what’s causing her infirm grip on faux sanity to slip; his insistence to hold her despite metaphorical shoves away) whatever you’re so sure of— whatever you think you know about me, you don’t. stop acting like you do. (guilt gnaws so deeply it reaches her bones, knowing it’s her own fault— isn’t it always ?— that despite the unwavering deadpan, she’s still unable to meet his gaze with the glare burning holes by her feet)
/ oops ? i’d say im sorry but im rlly not

@swrenity- / FAWK YOUUU /j “yeah, you keep telling me.” toren said. he knew something was wrong.. potentially *very* wrong. but he didn’t know how to go about any of it. “hey, don’t even begin to try and spin this on me. i’m here for you, you know that.” and all of a sudden, he was before her, gaze square on the female. “you’re not fine. i.. i know you when you’re fine, and this isn’t it.” he was worried.. really worried. it’s a feeling he’d never voice, ever, but it still existed in the way the contents in his stomach felt so close to coming up through his throat.

(oh god, has she really gotten THAT predictable ? her chest tightens. caramelized hues of sage focus on the ground, hoping this moment were unreal) not avoiding you. i’ve been busy. rehearsals, y’know. (though not often, her true nature seeps into her life like this: lies. for many days now, she’s been doing everything in her power to see less & less of him— up until now, she’d gone nearly the entire day without him. the reasoning has little to do with him; it’s that time of year again really, when memories wilt her insides & paranoia seems to be her guide. she has the excuse of an upcoming show, but she’s practiced so much the insides of her shoes have begun to stain again, blisters rubbed raw on fabric) i’m fine, yeah. are you ? you don’t usually come look for me,
/ i fear things will get worse :>
