I just stumbled across ur account. Ur bio interested me because I had no idea what astrophobia was. Now I’m so interested like is this a common fear, is it hard to deal with. I’m literally so amazed by this

in other sites it says that it is the fear of celestial objects but it is also linked with thunder, lightning, stars even the darkness. which is why i generally don’t feel comfortable staring into the sky at night because i get paranoid —- irrational fear i know but well but its not as bad as my fear of lightning and thunder

hi sorry for the late reply i’m currently in a place where wifi struggles are real af but to answer your question, yes astrophobia is a legit fear (there are fears for everything i presume seeing as a fear for holes even exist) but generally being astrophobic means you’re afraid of thunder and lightning. this fear of mine started when i was just a little kid and while we were staying at like this farmhouse surrounded by fields, i saw a lightning struck at the ground outside of the house literally meters away from me, at first i didn’t what it was but the electric current scared me and until now, i’ve never gotten over that fear — and when i see lightning or hear thunder, i usually just stay out of the windows because i start having anxiety attacks — nothing major but yeah. i’m not sure if it is a common fear amongst other people but wow this is long hahahaha hope this satisfied your interest :)
