Free books!!! :

I am super excited to announce that my debut book has been published!! :DDD
It has been a tough journey thus far, but that's easily forgettable when, in moments like these, you're wild with happiness ;D .

But it isn't over yet, and I could use some support; if anyone is interested, I'll provide a free copy in exchange for a rating + review (on both Goodreads and Lulu)!

What's this book about, did you ask? In three words: Aesthetic. Heartfelt. Truth.
It's a marriage of poetry with stunning visuals; a story of developing self-love in free verse. It's a painting of metaphor for our current digital age, drenched in social media and its influences, and a young girl's revelations in overcoming it. It's also a dabbing of the spiritual, applicable to life and happiness in general.

I've found in the past few years, as many of us already know, that despite social media's graces, it has the strength of self-destruction. The implicit, constant message of 'you're not good enough', the expectations to become a certain kind of person, and everyone becomes ruled by everyone else's opinion. While I've seen people speak of social media's dark sides, I haven't seen people talk about how to combat insecurity, or how to find happiness, other than 'hey, just don't use social media'. Let's be real--the world is moving towards this sort of a future, and moving backwards isn't going to help. There's got to be a way to bridge the two: ourselves, and the benefits of the digital age. This story of star-plucking and awakening attempts to help out with that.

And best of luck with your own writing, guys. With every inch, you're adding to the foot. x

(From a current work in progress! If interested, let me know with a comment! :D )

The Prophecy of Life and Death--
Hatred softens from block to ink
And the brush cleaves the whole with a stroke.
                Mirror image of
Life and Death, birthed from singularity.
Jealousy grows old, and age brings faith,
What is here is enough, when
                      Time narrows all.
Anger boils into steam, and steam cleanses
                      Sadness.
             Even Happiness-
She wanders 'round the garden but
                      Returns home.
All the magic from this union
             Vanish just like them,
For without Life, Death cannot be
And without Death, Life is a dream.

He was vine and winter spruce
But I came from sage and lavender.
          Opposites attract, they say--
               They didn't mention eternity.
I can comfort myself with yin and yang,
                And deny the oil and water;
But I know all flowers die in winter
          I know all leaves wither
          Snow, not evergreen,
          Evergreen on the hill
          Beside the play park where
          Adults stand lonely
          And children know treasures.
          I know
          I know him
          I know him no more.
