Every now and then I check in on here to see if anyone is still lurking and it looks like we’ve all moved on. It’s a little bittersweet knowing that a lot of us grew up on here and we’ve all left the nest, but I’ll never forget this place.

@EchoBack unfortunately not ): I only got an automated response from wattpad about it *maybe* being removed due to a policy violation, but as far as I’m aware they don’t keep records of any stories once they’ve been removed so I don’t think we’ll be getting it back. I just want to know whether there really was a policy violation and someone reported it which I can’t argue with, but if it was removed arbitrarily then I can’t help but feel a bit upset - it was my first big story, and as embarrassing as it was to read it several years on, it made me happy knowing that other people enjoyed it )):

@AVOIDYESTERDAYSDANCE I’m more confused than anything, I didn’t get an email to confirm that it had been reported and I’m currently waiting on a response from wattpad so I’m in the dark right now. It wasn’t exactly my favourite piece of work so I’m not mad, just a bit upset that some people will think I deleted it and that I probably won’t get any of the original data back (reads, votes, comments). Literally everything is gone, even old notifications, it’s like it never existed. I’ll definitely be keeping copies of anything I write from now on lol

Apologies for there being no updates for two weeks, I got a little caught up with college and I’m currently in a random bed after having fell asleep at a party but it’s cool. There should be an update some time in the next couple of days :-)

I’m actually so upset about the ads on Wattpad, and I know this topic has been moaned about before, but it’s my turn now. I’ve been on this platform for so long, years before the rebranding and introduction of ads, and I understand the use of ads on the home page, but incorporating them into people’s stories ruins the reading experience! Not to mention, few people on this platform would ever actually consent to having Wattpad make money from their work - it’s downright disrespectful :( Personally, I only really use this site to write, not read, but knowing that my readers are being bombarded with ads every three minutes makes me so upset and I’m reluctant to even upload the rewritten version of Soft Boy because I know it’ll be ruined by the ads and my people won’t be able to enjoy the book in it’s intended form :/ AO3 is always an option, but it feels wrong to separate my work from the place where it all began.

@ArtemisPhoebeParker a lot of people looked at it like that too!! i don’t mind how people read it, as long as they enjoy it and in all honesty, it got to a point where i was just putting a real face and a name to an OC. i’m glad to hear you’re excited!! i’ll probably upload the first few chapters in the next week or so, i just need to make an announcement on the original book before publishing the rewrite <3

@destiellie that is so sad rip </3 i remember back when soft boy was updating i'd read it and it had become a sort of comfort book at that time?? i didnt even have an account then, i'd check on the book every few days to see if it updated, and then end up rereading certain chapters. let it be known i still do not know the original people who are the characters, they were all OC to me then and are still sort of like that for me now. EXCITED TO SEE THE REWRITTEN VERSION THOUGH <3
