@imthatbleepmf || yeah, i get what you mean. i honestly don’t think i’ll ever write a concrete reason for why Emily left because that’s not really what the story is about. but i do understand the perspective that Matt comes across as weak in this fic. he’s inspired by the kind of people who keep letting others back into their lives, even after getting hurt. it’s a painful, vicious cycle that’s hard to break.
