“Oh yeah… it’s all coming together.”

Thought to give an update and an apology for my slow work pace, but I believe it’s all coming together nicely. It’s weird that I spent so much time on something that doesn’t change much of the original story. The main reason for remaking this was to enhance the original story before reposting it to AO3. But hey, I’m happy with how it turned out.

Furthermore, I think I learned a valuable lesson from my time working on the Short Stories and the remake. Trying to do every little bit of writing before posting is… not great. I’d probably have a much easier time working on one or two chapters at a time before moving on. So… I think I’ll do that from now on, but it doesn’t matter much (considering the staggering amount of work I already did on the short stories). Next time, though, I’ll learn my lesson.

As for posting the remake of the Spirits Within… it starts on October 4th at the latest, and from there, I’ll post chapters daily. It’s still the same number of chapters as before (29 including prologue and epilogue), so it’s about a month’s worth of releases. Again, the story doesn’t change much of anything except for making the story as a whole more fluent, grammatically correct, and make more sense both for the characters and plot. I’m sorry the (unnecessary) remake took so long, but it’s almost done, and then it’s back to the short stories that will hopefully come out at a faster rate (no promises though). See you later!

Tinnierfour

No problem buddy ^^
If you felt the remake was needed then it’s fine
I might read the remake, or not, my college is not going to let me I think lol

So...I may have been gone for...3 years after reading the original. But after looking at the old posts here in conversations and the old comments in the original, I will finally post/comment again!

Seeing all the challenges: personal problems, free time to writing being non-existent and definely some burnout or blockages here and there. (I have never been a writer and yes a artist, but because of this I have a ideia of how it is and how horrible it is).
Yet despite all this, you still here, writing the shorts and doing the remake of my favorite Ori fanfic that I will DEFINELY read! (I also need to read the shorts)

About your posts of being sorry about the slow work pace, being busy and taking breaks. It's okay, who loved to read about the Spirits Within will be back to read and see more of the world you building, I'm literally a perfect example! I have been gone for 3 years and now look where I am posting here! Yes, it's slow pace but everthing takes time, nothing is instaly.

Well, why I'm writing all this? Well, to again say "Thank You!" and also this time "Congrats!". In the end I'm only here to support you and by what I have seen, I'm not the only one. Yeah we all are only 33 followers. Yet, here we all are. Funny how life works.

Thanks for the heartwarming support and thanks. It is really appreciative, especially since I’ve worried if my slow work ethic had cost me something when taking so long to update/post. I do think I’ve learned a lot about what the best course of action is when writing, and I’m definitely going to apply that knowledge (but I can’t for these because I’ve already written everything or mostly everything). Anyways, thanks for commenting on my works!

Basically a whole month later I’m back once again :3
I hope you are doing well buddy. I also hope you’ve been having a great summer ^^

numrex

@Tinnierfour Yep, and I’ll be cross-posting here and AO3 from here on out. Hopefully, updates will come more frequently after I finished, but given school is starting again for me, all I can do is hope for the best. I’m so close to being done (hopefully before school starts again), but we’ll see where I end up.

@numrex I just hope you enjoyed some parts of your summer ^^
And to have it correct once you finish all the chapters you are remaking you’re gonna post it on Ao3 right?

Thanks for checking in. Being completely honest, this summer hasn’t been great, mainly for personal reasons, but also because I have had a hard time concentrating on writing. Good news: I think I’m in the home stretch. A few more chapters to remake and some editing is all that is left. I still don’t have a definitive end date, but I am working bit by bit towards the goal. I just keep doubling back because perfectionism is a crutch on my soul. Hope you’ve been having a good summer!

I hope you’re doing well! I hope you’re enjoying your summer break. (If you have one) I also hope you have made progress, even if a little. I still wait patiently :D

Those damn masterpiece video games. They keep distracting people from making ori stuff!! /j
Still no rush! I just hope you’re having fun with the DLC

@Tinnierfour Thank you, and I appreciate your patience. I'm sorry it's taking a long time (still struggling with my perfectionism). But it's coming along well, and then I'll be back to the short stories (hopefully with more confidence and efficiency). I'm still at it, don't worry!

Though, it'll still be a while. After all, I'm...

Another long break… I don’t mean to keep doing this.

Long story short, this past semester was hell for me. Incoherent teachers who get their own material/slides wrong, stress and anxiety in general, and lackluster assigned partners in group projects who didn’t give me the chance to do work on it until FIVE DAYS before the deadline, then scolding me for “not doing anything.”

B****, you didn’t give me a chance to work on-!

          *sigh*

Yeah, I was frustrated. But it's over and I can get back to writing and creating. I promise I’m still working on the short stories, but… I have something else that I would like an opinion about.

I wanted to put Ori and the Spirits Within (and the short stories) on AO3 for a while now, and that it would take a while to do. As I read and corrected things, I realized how… shoddy it looked. Not to say it’s a bad story (btw, 10k reads on the original, thanks so much!), but I just wanted to make it better. That's what I've been doing for a while now...

I then thought about what to do with the original story here, since it was being overhauled. I had 2 ideas, and I'd like to know what you think I should do.

          1) Post the new story in place of the old one, essentially deleting the original story from existence. I would place the new story in the old story’s file, which would keep the views, votes, and (most) of the comments. OR

          2) Create a new story for the updated version. I'd modify the original to be outdated, directing people towards the new version. I'm not going to put the old version on AO3, just the new one.

I have my own choice on the matter, but I want to know your thoughts too.

I'm still working on the short stories... and some other, secret projects, but I want to do this before I continue updating them. I'm currently planning on posting the next chapter day and date with uploading the short stories to AO3, and then, I'll update both sites simultaneously.

Again, sorry for my absence. Thanks for understanding! :)

@AntonyDainteshi03 I’m glad that some story I wrote was able to make you feel that way. Me writing the original story was mainly a way for me to get some thoughts and feelings out of my chest, in some attempt to make me feel better. And it did (thankfully), and I’m glad you really enjoyed it. And I’m sorry that I have been so… wobbly when it comes to delivering on my stories. Thanks for bejng there liking my stories. I’ll keep writing, and I’m hoping I’ll get even more done in the future! Thanks for the kind words, and I hope you’re having a wonderful life!

In all seriousness I have no idea XD I’ve been getting lucky I guess.

Also! I want to say that you among other writers inspired me to write my own fic! On Ao3. You don’t have to read it. I just want to tell you that :D

@numerx no problem! I understand that other stuff comes before writing this. And hope you can stay on your feet. Another thing, have you considered posting your stories on Ao3? If you want more people to see it it’s a good spot. As always I wait patiently for the next chapter

Hello...

I am very sorry for my prolonged absence from posting updates to my work. I honestly didn't expect that I would be away for so long, but life became weird and I needed to get myself sorted out, and in order to do that, I needed to step away from writing and clear my head. My motivation was a little drained at the time, which hasn't happened in a while.

I am sorry that I haven't been posting as much as I honestly could have been, given that I have already written so much that I haven't posted yet. But as I was on break and I was starting to write again, I looked back over the stuff I had already written and realized that I don't believe the stuff I have is at the quality I would accept for myself (because perfectionism is a curse on my mind...).

So, for the past two weeks or so, I've been dedicated to polishing and editing the stuff I've written. Good news: My motivation for the stuff I'm writing is coming back, slowly and surely. If I'm not too busy this semester, I'll try my best to write as much as I can and do the best I can. I might be able to get a chapter or two out in early February, so here's hoping.

I think I learned a valuable lesson while writing the short stories, though... honestly, I'm not sure what the lesson is. Take your time? Don't bite off more than you can chew? Have faith in yourself? Don't stress too much about the littlest things? All of those combined?! I don't know, but what I do know is that I'm learning and hopefully I'll bring more stuff out soon.

Again, sorry for my absence, but I'll try and be back on the road again! Have a good day!

          Also, happy new year!

Tinnierfour

It’s ok! You said it yourself that you needed time.
What matters with your writing is that YOU like it. If you think it’s good, then it’s good. I am excited for more chapters! Hopefully one about Ori and Sein? That’s just me though. I’m sure whatever you choose to write about will be amazing! And as always no rush
