          It’s also been bothering me that ‘Criminal Love’ and ‘Ultraviolence’ shared the same storyline but didn’t have titles that matched, so I finally fixed that

— ok I know I said I’d be gone (and I still am), but the things I come across while minding my own business are genuinely upsetting enough that I feel the need to say something
          
          fanfic writers need to be more original !!
          
          please, for the love of whatever you believe in, use that brain of yours and come up with your own plots, storylines, and character arcs. it doesn’t take a genius to create something of your own
          
          what makes it especially frustrating to me is that I write BL/GL, which is already a smaller space, only to then see ideas I spent months developing being lifted and dropped into someone else’s story with barely anything changed
          
          I’m well aware that unintentional inspiration can happen but if you’re worried about accidentally copying someone, maybe don’t consume stories in the exact niche you’re actively writing in. or, at the very least, if you know you’ve been inspired by a specific writer, have the decency to ask first or give credit where it’s due
          
          and of course coincidences exist, but when something has quite literally never been done before, and I’ve been actively creating, writing, and publicly talking about that exact idea for months, it becomes very hard to believe it’s just a coincidence or a “great minds think alike” situation
          
          some people need to be honest about the difference between independently arriving at a similar idea and being influenced by someone else’s work without acknowledging it
          
          I’m usually a very calm person but plagiarism is one of the few things that genuinely upsets me. writers deserve respect for the time, effort, and creativity they put into their work

          ( disclaimer: this isn’t aimed at any one person. there are, unfortunately, multiple situations I’m referring to. if you somehow see yourself in what I’m saying and feel called out, maybe revise your work. )

— putting all my projects on pause for now, I’ll be away from here and tiktok for a bit while I rewrite some chapters of my own life. I’ll still be working on drafts for all my stories and hopefully make progress on multiple chapters, so when I officially return I can publish them and have lots to share with you all <3
