Hi everyone,
A few years ago, I read a book and I’ve been trying to find it again, but I can’t seem to locate it in my library or reading lists.
The story is about an American mafia family with twin daughters and around 7-8 sons. One of the daughters, when she was a newborn, was kidnapped by the Irish mafia and was believed to be murdered. However, the Irish mafia kept her alive, and the American mafia were told she had died. The girl was raised in Italy and grew up with an Italian accent, but she was abused and locked up for years.
She knows who her real family is, but she was told they abandoned her and didn’t want her. She was shown pictures of them looking happy together as a family, which further fueled her belief that they had left her behind. On her birthday, she’s given a drug that makes her hallucinate. In one scene, she imagines her dad telling her he doesn’t love her and walking away, even though he's not actually there. It’s all part of the drug-induced hallucination.
I remember a few specific scenes:
She bumps into her brother and nephew while shopping. Her brother asks her to go home with them and take a DNA test to see if she’s really their sister. Since she looks so much like her twin, she agrees, and the test comes back positive. They then ask her to stay with them for a year.
She works undercover as a waitress and serves her family. She bumps into her dad and he looks confused, calling her by her twin sister’s name, asking why she’s dressed like a waitress. The twin sister, who’s behind their dad, confirms it’s not her, and the girl walks away. They delete the CCTV footage so their dad won’t figure it out.
The girl is also a businesswoman who sells guns to other mafias and is secretly an underground fighter called "Viper."?
If anyone knows the title of this book, please let me know! Even if the book has been deleted I still would like to know the name as it keeps bugging me.
Thanks
