he didn’t seem surprised by his answer , “ i expected as much ” he said with a hum as he leant back , gaze sweeping around the surroundings “ real shame but i won’t push it ” he said , hands up in a placating gesture. his posture was relaxed but his eyes were searching “ if that’s off the table … is there any way you could get me a glass of whiskey ? ”

her smile didn't drop or falter , but her expression shifted into that practiced , professional look of someone emotionally disconnecting from the situation . " i'm sorry , i'm not supposed to discuss other clients . . "

hannah would slowly take the picture curiously as she studied it and frowned . ` ` unfortunately i do but i can ' t place my finger on it . i believe from a meet and greet i did . . . ` ` she admitted and slid it over again , though something eerie about it to her . ` ` sorry , sugar . ` `

“ sugar ? ” he repeated raising an eyebrow though he was more amused than offended by the world “ very southern of you ” he said a hint of playfulness to his tone as he turned to face the woman in front of him. she looked vaguely familiar but he saw a lot of people constantly so he had never really been good at remembering faces. “ well since you seem eager to help .. do you recognise this face ? ” he asked sliding a photo across the table with a gloved hand.

sylvester was surveying the area when his dark eyes turned towards her “ ah yes… it’s a first for me ” he said with a polite smile as he turned to face her “ i can’t trouble you to help me find a drink in this place can i ? ” he said a joking lilt to his tone.

you / hate / it, don’t you ? look, it’s the only appropriate dress I have for this event so you’ll have to suck it up—

“ i wasn’t trying to convince you , you asked my opinion … did you want me lie ? ” he said his lip quirked up slightly as he raised an eyebrow choosing to ignore the blatant sarcasm she loved to throw his way. “ a better fashion sense than whatever you’ve got going on ” he shrugged not doubting the words leaving his lips even for a moment. he knew more about women’s fashion than the average man , he wasn’t even trying to be condescending he just believed she’d look better in a dress he picked out. “ come on then , we’ve got a couple hours … we might as well get you a couple more dresses whilst we’re there ”

@ocyeaniks ( … ) wow. you’ve really convinced me. [ sarcasm dripped from her tongue easily, raising her eyebrows in faint amusement. kalina didn’t think it was too bad — she didn’t mind dressing up now and again but she did prefer her tactical gear. the current dress she was wearing was the simple one she tended to pick out if she needed to go anywhere that required a dress code. ] you want to buy me a dress ? [ she asked in disbelief, tilting her head to the side, before a low chuckle escaped her. ] are you a fashion expert now ?

“ hate is a bit of a strong word. i don’t hate it ” he said his gaze sweeping over her for a moment. it was true he didn’t hate it but he didn’t love it either. it was a simple observation. he glanced down having a look at his watch “ we have time…let’s go buy you a few one. on me ” he said although it was less of a suggestion and more a statement of fact

“ oh my god all you ever do is get on my nerves , you can go ” he said rolling his eyes clearly not pleased with just having her linger around “ it’s almost like it’s my job ” he said in response to her comment as he slid on some gloves

well actually make it sound sarcastic next time, dimwit. * she was going to help him at first, but that decision quickly changed so she leant against the wall with her arms crossed * i hope you know how to get stains out.

The door creaks softly as it shuts behind her—uninvited, but entirely intentional.

Kat doesn’t rush in. She arrives.

Her heels click in slow, measured steps, dress swaying just enough to draw the eye—lifting her height, sharpening her presence. Not tall—but impossible to ignore.

Her gaze drifts over the body, unimpressed.

“Mm… you’ve been busy,” she hums lightly.

          A small pause—then a faint smirk.

“Not your best work, though. I expected more.”

She straightens, smoothing her dress, already looking past the body.

          “You’re still here,” she calls, sing-song. “Don’t even try it—I wouldn’t be talking if I didn’t know.”

Her head tilts slightly, eyes locking onto where he actually is.

“Honestly? Kinda disappointing. All that reputation just to hide?”

          A soft, amused laugh.

“I followed your kills all the way here. Least you could do is say hi.”

She lets the silence stretch—then, sweeter, sharper:

“You gonna come out… or do I have to find you myself?”
