I haven’t read them either, I just read up on a ton of characters on the official wikis for both the show and books. they can be a little confusing but it’s helpful to learn different customs they use, select words that fit the era well and explains a bunch of lore for the world. 

@angsteens add an extra sibling to a family, always the safest bet i feel (make up your own lore and put it out there in advance that it may not be as accurate because you've only seen the show)

( @angsteens ) just think abt being on a bus rather on a plane / in the air! i’ve flown in a plane a couple of times now, & still get anxiety (sometimes) but this helps me <3
