like i wanna write a hotd fic but i haven’t read the books and quite frankly i do not want to and there is so. much. lore. so HOW would i fit my own characters into it without making my brain go up in flames.

I haven’t read them either, I just read up on a ton of characters on the official wikis for both the show and books. they can be a little confusing but it’s helpful to learn different customs they use, select words that fit the era well and explains a bunch of lore for the world.

@angsteens add an extra sibling to a family, always the safest bet i feel (make up your own lore and put it out there in advance that it may not be as accurate because you've only seen the show)
