Hey miss Author! I'm not sure why I'm writing this this lmao, I felt the need to do so for some reason. I hope you are doing well and life is treating you well. I read "the music in my heart" 3 or 4 years ago from a different account I unfortunately lost, and I couldn't get enough. As a classical musician myself, that book resonated with me so much, you captured the intensity and jealousy of the industry so well. I loved the character developement of both Eleanora and Carter, and the humble nature of Carter despite her achievements. You made Carter feel real, and Eleanora's support was like breath of fresh air within all the expectations that asphyxiate not only Carter, but everyone fighting to become one of the best in the industry. I don't know what inspired you to write this story and if you yourself have a musical background, but it was such a gem. Ever since I read it, I've been coming back to your profile, either to reread or to see we'll get a third book haha! When I first read your book, I started working on a story about a pianist as well. Although more gloomy and depressing that yours, it was a start. After that, I tried different variations of the plot but nothing really worked for me. About 4-5 months ago, I decided to read the book again (there should be more books of this genre, why does no one write these ugh) and I realised I'd been holding back on romance. My storyline always revolved around a male protagonist and an insignificant to the storyline girl falling for him. Idk if it was me rejecting my identity, my instinct to make smth safe, or just fear, but I was holding my true feelings back. Now that I reread this beautiful story that doesn't only revolve around romance, but also external plot, I realised that I should make something I would enjoy writing and reading; something that felt honest. I'm currently working on it, and I still haven't edited the first 2 chapters ahaha, but I have you to thank for my decision to write "Cadenza" ❤️
