I remember when I went ballistic with my comprehensive school, nearly threw a fire extinguisher at one of the teachers ( thankfully it missed ) but nobody mentioned it again because they were willing to forgive that outburst since some knew that I wasn’t doing too well mentally so they moved on and see if they could help me….

            Basically during enemy of my enemy, the dragon hunter decided instead of sparing Hiccup, he decided to use the prod on his face, leaving a permanent burn scar on his face ( maybe even giving Hiccup one cloudy eye in the process, tho still being able to see, cuz that can happen if you damage the eye to a degree ), Dagur goes ballistic and after a quick fight decides to get Toothless and flies him back to dragons edge, which leads to the rest of the story where Hiccup begins suffering a minor case of PTSD every time he sees an iron prod in flames, self image loathing ( as now he has a burn permanent scar in the shape of the dragon hunters insignia, as a constant reminder of what they did ), but luckily Astrid is there to help him through the pain, not caring about his appearance and only caring about what type of person he was…. 
            
            Dagur meanwhile would be on dragons edge, hidden from afar, just making sure he knows Hiccups doing okay even with those bad memories burned into his mind 
            
            Honestly I can see this oneshot having sequels to it, like one where Berk finds out what happened to Hiccup and Stoick getting worried, or even one set during HTTYD2 and Eret recognises the scar and Valka is at first suspicious but then it turns to motherly concern after Hiccup explains ( like being fiercely protective of her child, who is now an adult )
