New chapter for “A Badger’s Diary” will (finally) be posted tomorrow

Quick questions for ALHS readers interested in the new version:

          The title is currently just “A Little Help from a Snake (revised),” but that still leaves room for confusion. So if anyone has any title ideas, please leave them down below.

          If it has the word Snake or Serpent, that would be nice, but it’s not required.

          The cover will be blue instead of green, so even if the titles get mixed up, you can at least differentiate them by color.

@onyxjay a lot of help from a serpent is a fun name, sounds like a parody song title

Something I’ve been working on alongside “A Badger’s Diary” is a new version of ALHS (A Little Help from a Snake). Like yes, there are revisions and edits made on the original fic itself, but I’m still not overall satisfied with it.

          Which is why, if you are interested at all, I will be posting it at some point.

          Something to keep in mind is that some parts may be the same or similar from the original ALHS, while others may be completely different. It will NOT be the exact same story, just the same premise.

          An AU of an AU if you will.

          The original ALHS will still be up; I’m not deleting that one. This will merely be a second version for myself.

There’s a lot going on in my life right now (positive stuff, don’t worry), so for my A Badger’s Diary readers, I’m not going to be updating for the rest of October and likely at least the first week or so of November. Again, nothing bad’s going on, but it is taking up a lot of my time and energy.

          I’ll still be checking in on my notifs, though, so feel free to say hi!

@onyxjay you're welcome and thank you :D

So normally when Harry befriends a Slytherin, it’s any one or multiple of the following: Draco, Blaise, Theo, Daphne, and Pansy.

          But what if - and hear me out here - he befriended Goyle and/or Crabbe?

RitaTodd6

@onyxjay I agree. Which i think would be easier with a true friend out of Slytherin.

@RitaTodd6 no worries, I should have explained what I meant. Basically, yes, we do kinda see them as one unit and not two individual people (who happen to be written as one unit by the original author anyway). So it would be interesting to see more stories where they actually act like separate characters

@onyxjay sorry I know you didn't I wasn't trying to say that. I was just saying my thoughts would be both of them as they are almost always together. Sorry.

Poisonous birds. That’s it, that’s the announcement.

AppleExpress

@onyxjay that’s awesome.

@AppleExpress some birds eat poisonous food that make them poisonous. For example, the pitohui bird, which has the same chemical compound (BTX) found in poison dart frogs

This is by no means a recent thing, but I thought I’d go ahead and say this.

          To anyone who’s ever posted a story on here, whether you’ve had hundreds of views or even zero, be aware of scammers in the comments. They’ll give a vague compliment and then ask if you’d like to connect with them elsewhere, usually Discord or another texting app. Their account is often only a week or two old at most, and they have nothing on their profile.

          Report them, delete the comment, block and mute, do whatever it is, just don’t respond.

          That is all.

Thanks for the heads up

@InquisitorBeals no, they’re definitely targeting new writers too. I think you’re just lucky they haven’t messaged you yet.

            Because at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter whether your works are “desired” or not, the scammers aren’t actually reading them. They’re just spam commenting and hoping somebody, even one person, falls for it.

So those scammers might be only targeting major authors
