Here’s food for thought:

I hate the Uncanny Valley effect but I anthropomorphise everything subconsciously. I just thought about it, and I think the reason we find the Uncanny Valley discomforting and anthropomorphism almost comforting is this: The main reason we anthropomorphise is because I think we sense or at least try picture a soul in the thing we’re giving human characteristics to. That’s why we try and make seem human by giving it a personality or set of emotions so we can almost “see eye-to-eye” with it, and it makes it easily understandable. As strange as this sounds I almost find this comforting to do. We find Uncanny Valley unsettling because it’s something that seems human, but we can tell it’s not because we see that it has no soul. The mere mimicry of humanity and having a soul is what scares us, the deformity of a normal, yet, fabricated organism that’s supposed to look like us, but we can sense that it is soulless, therefore making us uncomfortable.

He stepped out of line, it’s understandable to hate him. I am completely against the things he’s done, but i still stand by the fact that it’s better to hold him accountable for such things. I know people have tried and he’s been ignorant to some of it, but i’d rather we hold him to an authority instead of try to drag him down through insulting him. Probably a more ethical way to handle the sich

I don’t watch Dream, I never have, but that won’t stop me from speaking out about this. None of the people calling him ugly are fitting into the societal standard of beauty either. You shouldn’t have expectations of a faceless creator, because whether Dream was insecure about his face or not, there’s a reason he kept it hidden. He’s not there to fulfil your expectations of him and he never will be. Whatever you were expecting, you know for a fact that influence was passed by the media.
Dream has a face. Deal with it. It’s not the face you wanted? That’s your problem.
The thing with the beauty standard you people have put up in this day and age is that you think everyone collectively agrees with you. That’s why you say things like “bffr” when someone doesn’t share the same opinion everyone else has. You’re against bullying until you agree with it.
Beauty is subjective. You need to lower your unrealistically high standards of other people, especially people you don’t know.
I don’t know what Dream is responsible for and whether he’s apologised for it or not, that doesn’t give you and excuse to trash him for revealing his face. When someone does something out of line, you handle it maturely and hold them accountable for it. Not bully and insult them for any other thing. Everyone has an opinion and you are completely entitled to yours. Keep it to yourself. I don’t agree with everyone on this. I think that Dream has a face just like everyone else and I’m fine with it. I’m not gonna compare him to anything or anyone else. There are millions of people who would tear me down just for saying this because they saw his face and decided they didn’t like it. Tell me to “be for real”. Insult me with hominem attacks because you have no counter for the argument, and the only thing you can do to get people that disagree with you to quiet down is insult them, push them into a corner until they’re powerless with the societal poison you claim to despise but you use it in your favour.

Don’t throw your human decency out the window because this individual doesn’t look the way you — a stranger — want him to look.
