Hi! I want to say that I just came across "The Day The Music Died" by chance and I LOVE the concept! It's inspired me to write my own  "alternate musical universe"-style story with some of my favorite 80s glam rock bands. (Funny thing is, I can't STAND "American Pie"!) XD
