Well, the lost episode of Dark Glass was where Depth Charge found a disc that Dinobot left behind before he died in Code of Hero. It is a backup of his core consciousness, Depth Charge takes it back to the Ark an gives it to Rhinox and Optimus. Then they all have a meeting to decide on what to do with the disc, Rattrap immediately wants to insert it into Megatron's Dinobot clone so they can get their old friend back.
Cheetor agrees with Rattrap, Rhinox however shots them both down on this idea arguing that without the spark of the original Dinobot the core consciousness would just be an illusion of the person it belonged to, and if it didn't work than it would give the new Dinobot the old Dino it's data head on us it would give the Predacons an advantage.
Optimus agrees with Rhinox an advises both Cheetor and Rattrap to forget about this plan, but Rattrap gets angry and goes off on Optimus saying that he's turning his back on a Maximal who sacrificed himself to save the future and that he's abandoning the chance to get him back. Rattrap even questions Optimized leadership, so Optimus says enough and orders Rattrap to forget this plan. They both glare at each other for a few moments an Rattrap mumbles whatever an walks off, Optimus sighs and turns around to everyone else an gives the disc to Rhinox saying that they will dispose of it tomorrow and then they all go to bed.
Later that night Rattrap sneaks into the lab to take the disc that contains Dinobots core consciousness, he cracks the safe and is about to take it until he is found by Cheetor. Cheetor asks him if he's really going to do this an Rattrap turns to him and says don't try to stop me kid, I don't care what Optimus says, I'm not gonna sit here and pretend this never happended. And Rattrap admits to Cheetor about how it killed him to just sit there an watch Dinobot die as he held his hand and how much he regrets his last conversation with Dinobot on the Axalon and how he wished he could take it all back
