@Cinilla My pleasure! And yes, "All roads lead to scandal.." has been very amusing and very entertaining. Your piece is refreshing and pleasing to read: you have wonderful sentence structure, vocabulary, and overall great grammar and spelling that exceed Wattpad standards. Even if it may be a rough draft (I'm not sure), I'm glad you take all of those listed above under consideration when writing it for the first time.

Thank you for all the books you recommended, I'll definitely be checking them out (no doubt about it; I have been looking for well-written Wattpad novels).

          	As always, happy writing! (:

@Cinilla Glad to hear, and oh yeah, real life is definitely notorious for my procrastination when it comes down to writing.

Well it's definitely a very well edited draft, that's for sure. Drafts are difficult for me; I always find myself going back and editing them constantly. It's always right when I'm actually getting somewhere that I decide to make a huge U-turn because I can't control my writer's itch (at least that's what I call it, haha). I can only imagine putting my writing out there for readers to see when I know for a fact it hasn't reached its full potential yet, so I understand you're coming from. And for your story currently being just a draft, it's met all of my expectations for an actual published book, nonetheless a rough draft in general. I'm sure there are things you'd like to adjust to make it its best, but let me assure you before going on, right now it's been completely outstanding.

There are very many talented writers here, and I will say you fall under that list (your work blows away the entire Hot section of Historical Fiction). I love myself a fresh set of eyes too (that sounds weirder reading it off the computer screen than it does in my head), it's great insight that's for sure. And thank you very much, I look forward to finishing you story and going on to the next.

I would love to see what else you got in your sleeve, thanks, I never turn down a reccommended book haha.I know, I feel your pain! I've been away from Wattpad recently myself, between mountains of laundry and too many plans that don't involve sleep haha.

@oureyeswideopen Thank you so much, and while I am slow to update, never fear, I shall finish. Like most people, real life has a way of stealing time from more pleasant occupations like writing.

This is sort of a well edited draft. I have extensive notes for the big revision, and plan to reorder some scenes, trim and tighten severely (I'm sure you've noticed this is a fat, gaseous version ;), strengthen the structure, and clarify the stakes for Claudius and his story goal.

I constantly edit, and in some cases rewrite, ongoing chapters when I feel the motivation or Claudius' actions become 'off'. I know most people chose to get the first draft down in its entirety then revise (which is probably best), but as I didn't have a complete draft before starting to post, leaving something up that I'm not happy with bugs me too much. I want readers to see the best I can do at the moment, though of course the huge 'pull apart and reorganize' must wait.

Over time I've met a great bunch of talented writers here from all corners of the planet. It seems the serious writers eventually find each other and create a mutually beneficial critique circle. Having so many fresh eyes on a story is fabulous, and I've used many of the insights to improve the ms.

I look forward to seeing your work, and will send more book suggestions when I have a moment. I'll be away from Wattpad for the next fews days putting the garden to bed before the big cold hits, and cleaning the out the basement—ugh!

Hello there, and welcome to Wattpad land! Thank you for adding my historical fiction "All roads lead to scandal.." to your reading list. Your profile blurb tells me you like humour, and I hope my irreverent take on the life of one of Rome's more notorious aristocrats will entertain you.

I can also see you know your way around a sentence, and if you're looking for well-written stories with a goodly dose of humour, you can't go wrong with these:

"Cutthroats of the Coast" by @wizzobravo. An up close, hilarious but horrifying look at what really happened on pirate ships (and in foreign ports) during the Anglo-Dutch wars. There be brawling, bonking, buggery and blood...with the odd cup of tea.

For an action-packed adventure that blends humour, history, and Egyptian gods (yes, they were real), try: "Cursed Times—Now What?" by @linahanson. Her story reveals a world of ancient powers hiding in modern Egypt, and how a small bunch of dedicated--and mostly really old, with one very hot exception-- priests are trying to save us from dark forces. Her two main protagonists will capture your attention and drag you through their crazy world.

I have too many on my lists to recall more offhand, but must mention a sci-fi mystery that I found fascinating called: "Rewind Park" by @KraigC. I can't say much without giving it away, but this novella length story has a great twist at the end you might enjoy.

          Happy reading...
