@HALLUSINATIONSS !!! thank you for mentioning this, since i neglected to in my post. i think that often gets lost among those who aren’t familiar with what gender affirming care is because they think it’s only trans ppl who receive it, when that’s NOT true. the ppl who want to ban it only want to paint it that way to further villainize trans folks and police their existence. and seeing ppl on my fy page respond to the idea of banning this nationwide with “golly gee WOW!! this is amazing!!!” just proves how much more education ppl need on this.

banning gender affirming care when the ppl who get the most gender affirming care are cisgendered ppl both young AND older. but ppl wanna act like they’ve never heard of gender affirming care until now when they’ve been receiving it for YEARS

@HALLUSINATIONSS CLOCK IT. because i TO THIS DAY don’t understand the point of fans making these comments. i still have war flashbacks from the “korean beyoncé” debates. like… yes black ppl are the standard thanks for reminding us, i guess? but at this point, i’m starting to see a pattern with them. they love using black artists’ names to uplift their faves but in the same breath will downplay/degrade both their music AND achievements.

GO AWFF. this aint yapping YOU SPITTING. these mfs don’t know what it’s like to have your way of life stripped away from you so you have to make your own culture from the bottom up. just for that culture that you made to be seen as lesser, to be seen as inferior to others, to be seen as “not real” by other ppl bcuz you have no relationship to your ethnicity, you are just black. mfs will never take the time to understand hip hop as the art form that it has always been regardless of what generation it’s from. hell even mumble rap. they don’t care about doing the researching, putting in the effort, learning who came before them, they just want a hand in a market that has never been for them and to make it about them.
            
            when young posse came out, i saw ppl saying this group was just an homage to groups like seo taiji and boys…which ones again that generation of idols were ALL inspired by BLACK PPL. 1st gen was SO bad about that shit, the idol group formula itself is based on black groups from the 90s but nobody cares to even dig that far. 
            
            yall sit here and say “this is a homage” but then don’t even have black and brown ppl working on it. you don’t have black and brown voices help putting it together. sure you can say this is who it’s for, but if no black and brown ppl were even involved in working on it, and then it came out to be HUGE FUCKING mess then….is it really for them ?? a black person working on this would have told yall whatever those fucking lyrics were ?? CUTE THEM. it doesn’t make sense. it’s not just words like yall are treating them. THIS IS CULTURE.

@HALLUSINATIONSS also YES there needs to be actual effort put in when it comes to appreciation. appreciation for black and by extension the culture of hip hop means engaging with the history and understanding WHY hip hop as a genre has always been important especially in uplifting black voices and allowing black and brown youth/adolescents to express themselves + their creativity ! (excuse my yapping, but i wrote a whole paper on this and i will NOT be silenced)

@HALLUSINATIONSS EXACTLY. we are constantly policed and made fun of for wearing box braids, crochet braids, bonnets, durags, etc. meanwhile yt and nonblack ppl in general are practically praised for wearing it. but once we call it out for what it is (cultural appropriation) somehow WE are the bad guys??? HUH???

im ghetto when i wear my bonnet out, but every yt girl is wearing them now to protect their “curls” and it’s acceptable to do it. YALL DONT EVEN HAVE CURLS.
