The poem erupts a lot of emotions in me. I can relate to child's empathy, curiosity and even ability to detect off nature of moon.
Where the moon, who might have given up or just following the trail of time. Yes, she looks pale, yes she looks sad and yes wishes to weep. The dark spots below the eyes aren't the result of constant bombardment of meteorites but the impacts of never resting to sleep.
She is moon, the little loon.
There is this poem called Lady moon from 6th grader book, https://www.google.co.in/books/edition/Stepping_Stones_to_Literature/0ZMAAAAAYAAJ?hl=en&gbpv=1
And it has lines like,
"Why look so pale and so sad, as forever wishing to weep"
"I must obey my father and do as I'm told"
I mean, what kind of 6th grader are gonna read these rhetorical lines. Wow. Were they born with potter glasses or they drink low calory green tea instead of milk??
