I want to get back into writing but I'm not sure what about. I want to try writing horror but I'm sorta low on inspiration for written horror (besides House of Leaves, and it's also really visual). Any suggestions?

Does anyone know how to write psychological-psychodelic horror? I'm really inspired by two animes (Ayakashi: Samurai Horror Tales and Mononoke (2007)) and I really like the visuals in them. I just am stumped on how to make something trippy without sound or visuals.
