It  evoked  a  profound  sense  of  triumph,   tinged  with  amusement,   as  it  appeared  she  deluded  herself  into  thinking  she  could  "win."       ``    isn’t   this   cute .     ``     he  mused ,    obviously  finding  this  moment  all  too  humorous .    the  man’s  blue  eyes  drained  all  excitement  glint  and  replaced  it  with  nothing  but  utter  coldness .    
             
            
            yet  one  thing  he  was  certain  of  was  that  this  girl  possessed  tremendous  potential.   It  was  as  if  they  were  two  complementary  halves  of  a  whole,   like  two  sides  of  a  coin.             ⠀⠀ The  man  couldn't  comprehend  why  those  words  from  Megumi  caused  such  anguish  in  his  chest.   In  that  moment,   his  eyes  briefly  softened,   but  it  wasn't  a  joyous  softness.   Rather,   it  was  the  kind  of  softness  that  comes  when  someone  felt  some  sort  of  betrayal.   However,   it  quickly  faded,   and  his  eyes  returned  to  their  usual  calm  state.  
            
            ⠀⠀ ``      I   know   yer   lookin’   at   me —-   ``    the  poor  man  couldn’t  even  finish  his  own  sentence  before  being  shut  down  by  his  own  son .    toji  audibly  clicked  his  lips ,  his  hand  instinctively  rising  to  scratch  the  crown  of  his  head .    he  couldn’t  shake  the  feeling  that  his   late  true  love  was  watching  from  above,   finding  amusement  in  their  interaction,   sharing  a  secret  giggle.          ``     now  listen  to  me  here  boy ,    give  me  time  to  explain   ..     ``
            
            his  tone  held  somewhat  a  desperate  affect ,   yet  it  still  sent  a  chill  down  one’s  spine  .   blue  eyes  darting  to  look   at  his  son’s  face ,  a  face  that  strikingly  reminded  him  of  /her/ .    there  goes  that  anguish  feeling  in  his  chest  again.
