Hi, and welcome to The Atwood Problem.

This story has been living in my head for years. It started as a what if you took a kid who never really felt safe, never really fit anywhere, and gave him powers big enough to break the world and then asked him to survive it? Not as a hero. Not as a villain. Just as a person.

The Atwood Problem follows Rory (quiet, proud, stubbornly kind), as he's dragged into a life he never asked for, surrounded by people who want to use him, save him, love him, control him, or destroy him. Sometimes all at once. There are powers, yes. Enhanced tech, impossible energy, interdimensional threats, but at its heart this is a story about identity, trauma, found family, and the complicated, messy way people hurt and heal each other.

My background is actually in art and illustration, and my dream is to turn my stories into a graphic novel one day. I've already started sketching characters and moments from the story, and I'll be sharing those, along with bts notes and extra content, over on my instagram and Patreon , if you ever feel like you want to see more of this world (most is still free there too as I build).

This story grows slowly. It lingers in relationships. It sits with feelings. It hurts sometimes. But there is softness here too, humour, quiet love, resilience, and warmth. If that sounds like your kind of story, I'm really glad you're here.
