Hello, my dearest Wattpad family! <3
It’s Sunday and I couldn’t get my lazy arse up in time for church, so I’ve logged on to work on Mon Monstre for a bit. Thought I’d also post a little life update :D
1. As you may know, I am a practising attorney now. And things have been hectic! In just two months, I’ve already been promoted at my firm. Not only do I handle client matters, I am also responsible for training the juniors. On top of this, I’m also a realtor, lol. So you can imagine, my time is limited.
2. I’m studying for the conveyancing exam (without going into detail, conveyancing and notarial work are the only 2 specialization fields in South African law). I cannot even describe how colossal the volume of study material is for this exam, which I’ll write in March. I’ll also be starting my Master’s in Tax Law in February, so I’m already getting a head start on that. At my firm, I also oversee the immigration law department, which is a totally new field for me and is quite complex, so I do training for this *every single day*.
3. Apart from work and academics, I GOT ENGAGED 2 weeks ago!!!!! Which is obviously huge, and we’ve been spending all our free time celebrating with friends and family (literally going to a bbq today where we'll announce it to even more of my fiancé’s aunts and uncles, lol).

I couldn’t wait to publish this chapter! I spent aaaaall of Thursday writing this, after I was feeling really under the weather on Wednesday. There will be a part 2, but this part 1 is already my longest chapter yet. 3 months ago I applied for my dream job: working in Parliament. I won’t say what the exact role was, because I don’t want to dox myself. It looked incredibly hopeful, I made it to the final round of interviews, I was recommended as the top candidate to the political party I was assigned to. But unfortunately, I’ve just found out I was unsuccessful. ;/ Which is heartbreaking. This is getting so bad, I am now considering pursuing a Master’s degree, just so I don’t sit idle at home.
On top of that, yesterday I was out all day celebrating my brother-in-law getting his MBA. I drank about 8 different types of champagne and got home at 1am, lol. So I’m tired, I’m hanging, I’m cold AND I’m sad. No chapter today, y’all. This is also a chapter I need to perfect, so I’m gonna have to spend some more time with it. <33

I can’t believe I’m losing sleep over a fanfiction lmao.
I woke up at midnight and couldn’t fall asleep again. My mind keeps running through the chapter I’m currently writing, because I want it to be utterly perfect. Now it’s 3:30am, and I decided to just get out of bed and park my ass infront of my laptop, because clearly sleep won’t be arriving any time soon. And I’m not the type of person to sacrifice my sleep FOR ANYTHING. Good lord.
