[    auburn hues stares into the distance,   rather cliche,   but the shifter was still contemplating on where their heart lied.    ]      then what brings you here?   trying to gain more information from me?      [    the marleyan inquires,   turning to finally greet elric with their usual—but fake—smile.   that’s all that they knew,   wasn’t it?   was to continue smiling,   pretend like everything was fine,   and to just get the job done.    ]      elric.      [    it was a push and pull,   between the two of them.   if the other chose to use their first name,   rowan found no other pleasure than also tip toeing along his boundaries.    ]

@titanshft      *        (   maybe it’s their smile     ..   or even the way their words are enunciated.   whatever it is,     it causes elric to shift his weight awkwardly.  eyes flit with doubt,  seemingly  searching for something to distract him from the pit that sinks in his stomach      /    the intuitive feeling that tells him he should know better.    regardless,       the captain’s fingers raises as well to unbutton a button to his shirt.  )      thank you for the reassurance,   byrne.   maybe it was     ..    after erwin that—      nevermind that.    thank you.

@paradisghst,              [    a small smile forms,   attempting to comfort the captain by placing a hand on his shoulder.    ]      listen,   i can see where you’re coming from,   but i hope you know that i never knew any of this.   i’m just as confused..   hell,   maybe even scared as everyone is,   but what we can’t start doing is point fingers at people.      [    the shifter replies,   and while everything they spewed was a lie,   rowan made it in their best attempt   (and it was a hell of a good one)   to lie their way out of this.   slowly,   a small frown forms as their hand slides away.    ]       it’ll be alright.

(    lips purse,    they channel the other’s annoyance too well and it shows.    )      dearer than the rest of us apparently.      but maybe you’re right,    maybe i am overthinking it.    or       ..      nevermind,    that’s just crazy.     (     whatever he would say is discarded;       doubt sets in.    it’s hard to believe whatever he hears is true,   especially when so many parties suggest otherwise.   )

@paradisghst,              i wasn’t thinking about originality to be honest,   but noted.      [    a glance is taken,   falling to the other’s hands.   almost threatening to scoff by the elric’s effort to the point where rowan wanted to simply bat away his hand.   however,   they refrained and allowed for the captain do as he pleased.    ]      we should go.   i’d rather die fighting than die sitting around and be titan food.

@titanshft    *        (  fingers tear a long string of cloth from his own shirt;         cool wind against exposed skin leaves the commander to only shiver subconsciously.     the cloth is barely long enough to act as a tourniquet but elric intends to make due as much as he can.  it’s wrapped around carefully.    )      a cool way out?    as if that’s original.   you can do better than that.
