From a young age, I was captivated by the world of stories. Whether it was the books that lined the shelves of my local library, the fairy tales my parents read to me before bed, or the vivid imaginations of my classmates, I was always drawn to the magic of words. But it wasn't until I stumbled upon a worn-out, weathered novel at the back of a secondhand bookstore that I truly realized the power of storytelling. That moment marked the beginning of my love for reading and writing.
Growing up, I was an avid reader, though I never considered myself a writer-at least, not at first. I found solace and adventure in the pages of my favorite novels, losing myself in the worlds authors created. But as I got older, I began to feel the stirrings of something more inside me. I realized that I, too, had stories to tell. I had thoughts, emotions, and experiences that wanted to be expressed. I wanted to share the worlds and characters that danced around in my mind, to make others feel the same excitement, joy, or heartbreak that books had given me.
It was a simple decision, one that happened slowly over time. One evening, while reading an incredible novel, I put the book down and thought, "What if I could create something like this?" The idea of writing my own stories, of crafting my own characters and narratives, filled me with excitement and trepidation. Writing became my escape and my sanctuary, a place where I could let my imagination run wild and share pieces of myself with the world.
