hello all, like, two people who follow me! I started a draft of a book nearly 5 years ago now: a psychological exploration of the East London killings by Jack the Ripper. As much as I had a blast writing it, I recognise that, at the time of writing, I was far too young and naive to be trying to tackle such a subject with any level of taste. Concisely put, I wanted to explore the psychological drive that someone would go through in order to be able to perpetrate the crimes, whilst drawing on the experience of contemporary misogyny and class culture wars at the time. Whilst I did try my best - I am physically unable to read any of my old drafts without cringing at the way it reads. 2025 is a new year though, and five whole years have passed since I first developed the idea, which is why I am looking at restyling the work as a piece of drama (a play) whilst also keeping it with the vision I originally had. To give a timescale to this project would be utterly pointless as I have several other projects I am also working on, however my intent is to go about this piece in a more tasteful, and also surreal, manner. I have every intent of putting together a production of it eventually, and will likely be bringing in several people who I tend to write alongside regularly now, to help with that development of it. I also haven't decided whether I'll republish it on here or not, as I do intend to own the rights to my own writing and would eventually like to take it to the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh (where I've put works before and they can be quite particular about copyright there...), but I may release sections of the redeveloped drafts on here. If not then I will eventually link the redeveloped text on here, so all (three, if that) of you who read it back in the day can reread it if you so duly desire. I have such a burning passion for this idea, that I just can't seem to get out of my head and onto paper but lord am I going to try. Yours truly, Paraplexis
