chapter 44 is literally an angst writer trying to write a happy chapter 
          
          this chapter took forever, I really wanted it done and posted because tomorrow I have to catch a train to Toronto!! but I'm trying to add foodstuff references into the fic since I think it pairs with Leigh's disordered eating? so the bread types in that chapter that get mentioned is basically soda bread, hardtack and fry bread, types that don't require yeast. 
          
          the first flashback chapter is officially done and I'm so excited for Theo to be part of the story officially !! I'm sticking with my decision to write a flashback chapter between posted chapters, so the delay will unfortunately be happening still between updates. I'm just trying to extend the Alexandria pre negan storyline out to fit all this Leigh plot line because its coming to the point where the story meets negan

Civilians is getting fairly massive to the point I’m starting to think that when the plot reaches the Negan reveal/flashback chapters, I might end the story and start a new part? I was intending to cover the whole TWD storyline in Civilians and use a sequel for the spinoff material, but the word count is sitting at 304,322 and Alexandria is really just starting to happen, and the word count for the entire my tears ricochet story was around 440,000?
          
          Also updates are getting delayed!! For every chapter that I post now I’m aiming to write a flashback chapter so they’ll be ready for when that part of the story hits? The first flashback chapter is almost done and there’s going to be a bunch of references to prior chapters that I might put up a summary when I post them? (flashbacks are sad because Leigh’s Rosalie again and there’s no Beth or Daryl yet, but Theo and Arnold are my beloveds so it’ll still be fun!!!!)

I was listening to Staying still by Noah Kahan today and the chorus is so Beth and Leigh coded for the last few chapters

worst week(s) ever with work but maybe chapter forty two gets posted sooner than planned? and I get caught up with reading!! Carolina by Taylor Swift is on repeat non stop & a third of it has been written!!

chapter of civilians took forever but we're getting super poetic because what do you mean Abraham & Leigh and Daryl & Glenn are taking field trips together and Negan is fast approaching the story?!
          
          I know Becca Ford is supposed to be dead according to the show, but I like the idea of her floating around somewhere and surviving and maybe showing up in the eventual dead city part of the sequel 
          
          also chapter notes--
          -cedar wardrobe referenced back in chapter thirty with the infamous rose dishes which actually will appear again for the plot
          -chapter 35 was soft launching this idea about going home with Leigh unsure if she left the door open or shut to her bedroom, what colour the carpet was
          -and chapter three for the reference of letters that Leigh's grandmother never sent out BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS.

kind of want to do a section of bonus chapters that don't fit in with civilians? like I wrote a whole chapter for Beth's POV at the hospital when she meets Leigh for the first time and kind of love it. (I'd call it uncivilized because I think that's low key kind of funny)-- nothing essential to civilians, but general stuff that didn't fit the storyline or what-ifs

I'm almost done with the new chapter-- I've been working towards a whole section of storyline which is Leigh straight up not eating meat and having a restrictive eating disorder which she does recover from-- just a heads up going into that section of the plot!! I've been hinting about it for a long time but we're properly rolling with it from here on out
