sorry y’all no bbl update this week. i desperately wanted to get this out but it’s shaping up to be one of my biggest chapters, word count wise. my personal life is hectic rn too. anyway, i promise i’ll double update when i can, these next chapters are juicy <3
@pauldanoIvr take all the time u need, we’re all patiently waiting! i believe good things take time and everyone needs a break once in a while. good luck teddy :)
https://pin.it/FP14Ito0C a gift <3
ik nobody cares on here, but david lynch passed away today and i’m inconsolable and i really want to rant. all my life, i’ve been right brained. creating is my outlet and my passion, no matter what it is. i love the unconventional; things so odd you can’t make sense of them, but you know it resonated deeply with you; anything that’ll make someone question *why* you’d like it. i kept my ideas to myself, too scared of rejection and imposter syndrome, but in 2022 i really connected with cinema. film is an art form that i can never separate from. it’s become a staple in my life, and i’m better for it. david lynch was a person i’d come to know on my journey through film. he’s one of the greats in western cinema, and he’s always stood out to me. i don’t think there’s anyone who’s been more authentically human (in the words of kyle maclachlan). he envisioned the world through a lens so uniquely him that it’s a remarkable gift he shared it with us. shared it with me.
@astrellore thank u so much elle, it truly means a lot <33 i’ll definitely be sitting and reflecting on his passing, but im going to use every breath i have to create. it’s what he’d want of everyone.
@pauldanoIvr teddy, thank you so much for sharing this beautiful eulogy. i might not have known much of him or the art he created, but it's clear he means so much to you. i hope you can find some time to sit with your grief and maybe find some solace despite it. life goes on even in hard times but sometimes you just need a moment. please take care of yourself. i'm here if you need support <3
it’s a known fact that david lynch films are “confusing,” whatever that means, but he expressed how he just didn’t care. when asked to explain, he’d say no. he told exactly what he wanted and never let anyone tear it apart. that’s inspiring. it mattered to me. through 2022 to now, i’ve grown creatively because of the media i’ve consumed. i wouldn’t be where i am if there weren’t beautiful people like david lynch content with oddity. bad luck black, the thing, everything else i’ve done, all draw inspiration from his work, or even just how he acted in real life. he’s a man of many quirks, someone who contextualized and treasured older time periods, like the 50s. everything he did, he did with purpose and heart. he painted, made music, made films. david lynch loved art, and i do too. when i create, i do it for all the people before me and for those who’ll view what i’ve done in the future. despite his illness and his age, he never stopped creating, thinking, living. in a world of ai and corporations applying limitations, never stop being creative. it’s what david lynch would want; it’s what all past creatives would appreciate. the world revolves around people and the amazing things we make. it’s hard to live at time where i will watch great artists pass on, but i’m content that i’m a part of the generation who’ll carry their legacies and traditions onwards and upwards. wherever you are, just don’t stop making things. i love being inspired, and david lynch was just that. rest in peace to a legend and a wonderful man <3
