💎MARIGOLD AND THE DIAMOND THIEVES💎

06.10. 2025 is WORLD ARCHITECTURE DAY.

To celebrate it - as you'll see - I've changed the background image on my profile to The Tower of London. The architecture of that building is fully explored in later chapters of Marigold and the Diamond Thieves. I also enjoyed creating the design of Blackmoor Hall - the gothic mansion on the Yorkshire moors where a lot of the novel is set.

And then there's the unique home of Marigold's parents, Archie and Lolly, The Flaunt Tower, inspired by the St John's Beacon in Liverpool, UK:

'It was considered a monstrosity on the city's skyline. Painted gold, Archie had heard ungrateful Marigold describe it as an enormous doughnut balanced on the end of a huge banana. He didn't care. His home was unique. He'd insisted that the tower curve and people had sweated until it did curve.'

From Chapter 2: 'The Smiler and The Pig Thing'.
Read on to find out what happens at The Flaunt Tower.

Paul Myatt is from Liverpool and lives in Manchester, UK.

After completing an MA in Screenwriting, Paul wrote several episodes of BBC TV drama, 'Doctors'.

'Marigold and the Diamond Thieves' is his first novel.

The original, and very different, Marigold story was read to seven and eight-year-olds at a primary school in Kirkby, Merseyside. Paul found their letters and drawings of the characters very inspiring.
