          i’ve been thinking about this for quite some time now and have inevitably decided to unpublish two of my draco malfoy fics and my xavier thorpe fic. the ziggy berman fic will stay, despite the fear street fandom probably being dead (ziggy has such a special place in my heart).
          
          the harry potter series has always been, and will always be, something special to me. it helped me get through tough times. but i’ve been long gone from the fandom since 2021. i still want to tell stories through fanfiction, but i can’t force it anymore, as i’ve slowly been losing interest (especially with draco malfoy).
          
          i’ve tried again and again to write another chapter for the fics, but nothing ever comes to me. i just end up staring at my screen for an hour or two.
          
          and jk r*wling has always felt off to me—and she’s only become more problematic over the years. given that the harry potter franchise is still tied to her (she even said she worked closely with the writers for the upcoming HBO series), i feel even more distant from something i’ve loved since 2018.
          
          i also changed draco malfoy’s actor in my fics from tom felton to tom blyth because of the negative buzz people kept mentioning about him, but honestly, that didn’t help me push through with the stories either.
          
          will the fics return someday? it’s possible, but i can’t fully guarantee it. maybe in the future i’ll bring them back, but for now, i want to step back from the franchise and from writing fanfiction about it. harry potter is something i now see as nostalgia—something i can look back on fondly whenever i miss it.
          
          and who knows? there might come a time when I can finally republish those fics and finish them.
