I'm from Germany and because of this English isn't my native Language, but I think, it's ok. My age is between 5 and 99 years (does America has a weird unit for it? I don't know to be honest)

German Phrases you need to know:

„Ich verstehe nur Bahnhof!"
Translation: "I only understand train station!"
It means when you don't understand anything.

,,Mein Deutsch ist nicht das Gelbe vom Ei."
Translation: "My German is not the yellow from the egg."
It means when your German isn't that good.

,,Heidernei!"
It has no translation and it's also kinda hard to explain the meaning.
I don't know. Maybe you just say it when you want to do it.

,,Ist alles in Butter?"
Translation: "Is everything in butter?"
You say it basically to ask if everything is allright
