i joined this website for some degree of escapism from my quotidian routine of wake up, eat, study, work, and sleep. i thought, hey, maybe there would be some hidden jewels of people on here with whom i could build meaningful friendships. unfortunately, i am coming to realize that there’s a culture of superficiality on here, a culture of trashing yourselves and others (because, at the end of the day, you think of yourself as no more than a fictitious character and you think of others the same way), and a culture where the very necessary means of building friendships in real life is tossed away and ignored all because you all desire instant gratification rather than putting long and hard dedication towards something meaningful. i legitimately relate with no one on here.
