          DO NOT stroke your bird. Pet them with your fingers moving back and forth.
          
          ONLY pet them on their heads. Touching the body is reserved for mates.
          
          DO NOT clip their wings. It's abuse and would be the equivalent of cutting off a humans fingers. Not anything life threatening, but still necessary to have. Seriously, seeing people clip bird's wings makes me sick to my stomach.
          
          BE PATIENT for trust to come. A lot of birds are prey animals, and they're naturally scared of bigger beings such as humans.
          
          GIVE YOUR BIRD toys to play with to prevent boredom.
          
          IF THEY'RE BITING, HISSING, GROWLING, OR FLUFFING THEIR NECK FEATHERS around you, they're stressed and don't trust you.
          
          Please take care of your birds. They're conscious, too.
