VERY, VERY IMPORTANT NEWS FROM THE AUTHOR:
Hello to all! River here (FKA Mira, Myra, whatever nickname I've used on here). I am keeping this short and sweet: Since one of my stories has recently been gaining a lot of traffic (probably due to the "Michael" movie release), I thought I could utilize that rush of attention to tell everyone some actually crazy news:
I wrote and published "A Tender Touch" when I was only 16, almost 9 years ago. Now, I am a young woman and have done some things that I cannot believe myself!!!
1. I HAVE WRITTEN, REVISED, AND DESIGNED THE COVERS OF FOUR DIFFERENT BOOKS. ONE DEBUT NOVEL CALLED "ONE HELL OF A GIRL" AND THREE POETRY COLLECTIONS. ALL IN ENGLISH EXCEPT ONE OF THE POETRY BOOKS, WHICH IS IN GERMAN.
2. I HAVE FOUNDED MY OWN PUBLISHING HOUSE "NAME THE PEN."
3. I HAVE SET UP AND LAUNCHED MY VERY OWN WEBSITE "WWW.THATSRIVER.COM" WITH AN ONLINE SHOP. YOU CAN ALSO FIND ME ON INSTAGRAM, TIKTOK, AND YOUTUBE AT: THATSRIVER24
4. ALL OF MY FOUR BOOKS HAVE BEEN OUT SINCE LAST WEEK, AND I AM NOW A REGISTERED AND OFFICIALLY SELF-PUBLISHED AUTHOR?!?!!!!!
I'm also gonna be on TV next week (again lol)! It'll be a report about me and my books. My life is like a movie, and I think that... in the words of the love of my life: "This is it." This is really it this time!
I would be neither the author nor the businesswoman I am today if it weren't for Michael. I did all of this so that I can own 100% of the rights to my work. He was so very adamant about that. And I am privileged enough to have achieved that already. Now, I want to continue what people like him started and advocate for other artists, marginalized groups, animals, kids, etc. AND BOOKS MATTER. My other muse Prince put it best: "Like books and black lives, albums still matter."
Anyhoo! My dream is starting to become my real lived experience. And "A Tender Touch" was what - without trying to sound too hyperbolic - kicked this all off for me.
