PETAL’s TOP 5 BOOKS OF 2024
1. A Court of Mist and Fury - Sarah J. Maas. I mean, I literally wrote my own series based off of this one. And this book improved upon the first one so much, I loved the romance so much more. I pretty much have to include this one.
2. A Bitter Remedy - Alis Hawkins. Dual POV Victorian historical fiction, telling the story of an Oxford College fellow and a young Welsh woman who has been newly admitted to the university, as they attempt to solve the death of a student.
3. The Murder After the Night Before - Katy Brent. Murder mystery that follows a woman who wakes up from a night out, having gone viral for the worst reason possible, as she attempts to solve her best friend’s death.
4. The Unbroken Beauty of Rosalind Bone - Alex McCarthy. A short novel that takes place in a Welsh village that follows several of the residents years after the disappearance of their most beloved and beautiful resident.
5. Night Shift - Annie Crown. A sweet and spicy college romance that follows a basketball player and the only book protagonist I’ve ever seen who loves reading and also isn’t incredibly annoying. I read it in one sitting while on vacation and definitely didn’t get some ice cream on a couple of the pages.
I know none of these are Wattpad books, but I always love to recommend enjoyable reads whenever I can. If you’re an avid enjoyer of books in general, I could not recommend these five any more. Happy reading!
