@pharmakis this movie pmo like i'm formulating an essay on tom king and the carceral propaganda he spreads in his work and how that ties into american imperialism so i watched the camrip version of supergirl bc wot is. well it's certainly fitting. and yeah it's bad. not the worst superhero movie i've ever seen but easily one of the most frustrating. also biliquis everly should be allowed to shoot everyone involved for paying tribute to her by naming a sex trafficking hub after her

@pharmakis it's so horrendously and frustratingly mediocre and i feel like there was clearly meddling from above with it and it is not the 'creative controlled vision' that was promised. so many moments where it clearly wants to dissect and discuss patriarchal violence but it cuts a terrible needle drop and a pointless fight scene that gets repeated seventeen million times. lobo's inclusion reeks of misogyny and he serves no role but to be a man in the movie. can't say i'm against changing the ending, since the comic's end is so entrenched in imperialist nonsense and CIA line of carceral thinking, but my god does it have no satisfying build up not does it tell us anything interesting about the characters. milly alcock is a stand out but we knew this from superman. the soundtrack is lazy and directionless. the final needle drop that everyone is criticizing actually should be panned more - i can see exactly what it's trying to do and making that attempt for the final is almost laughable.
