Hear me out real quick, I see a lot of y’all saying that it’s been over 70 chapters and Zac still hasn’t grown and that’s not 100 percent correct. Zac has grown, just not in every area yet. He’s grown as a partner. Since being with Fatima, he’s been more attentive, more intentional, and fully faithful, even during six months without sex and while on tour. Some of y’all might say that’s bare minimum, but that matters, especially for someone who’s never been in a real relationship before. Where he’s struggling is healing. Fatima leaving triggered unresolved trauma from his mother leaving which we all know, and he’s spent most of his life using sex and partying to cope. He’s only been in therapy for a month and a half, so when he thinks people aren’t seeing that he’s trying to change, he falls back on what he knows. Trust me soon y’all are going to see some growth and you’re also going to understand why it’s so difficult for him to let Fatima in when he’s making decisions if you hasn’t caught on to it already.

That’s why I appreciate you writing him so complex well both characters are definitely not perfect in this story. He has grown but things can trigger you if you don’t get help dealing with it and can revert a person back to bad behaviors he need that therapy to develop some coping mechanisms

I agree and truly understand. He is definitely a changed Zac he just still have some areas in his life that still need fixing by healing it.

He’s changed but he’s also very much a damaged and has not dealt with his deep rooted trauma that he is afraid to address. I kinda feel like him blacking out on ol boy wasn’t even intentional, he’s just so angry and it all came out at one time. He’s gonna get it together though.
