the recent shit going down in the mandela catalogue community is slowly making me regret ever joining. the way this community completely fucking destroys alex kister’s mental health with little-to-no remorse for doing so is fucking sickening. I’ve seen multiple rape fanfics of mark (which is fucking awful, as alex has MULTIPLE TIMES asked people not to sexualize his characters, especially mark heathcliff), ship fanfiction and ship art, people putting him on pedestals, and everybody completely switching up his series and removing the horror aspect from it.
I may not know alex kister at all, so this may come off as incredibly weird, but I care about him. he genuinely seems like a decent person, and if it turns out I’m wrong, I wouldn’t care. its not my business how he is off the internet. I wouldn’t care or even be disappointed if it was revealed he’s an absolute dick in person; I just wouldn’t because it’s not my business, and it’s not yours, either
you people need to realize he is just some guy. he is not just “the creator of mandela.” he is a guy. he is a guy that likes playing video games and horror and cats and minecraft. and he is a real person. and he has a personal life and friends he’s known for years. he is not, and should not, be just “a horror content guy” to you. if you really cared about him and his content, you would see him as who he really is; a guy. a guy trying to make something he’s genuinely proud of. he is not trying to please you.
