Things that turn me off in a story
•EXTREMELY long stories that take 50 chapters to get to the action but then 10 chapters later it's over???
•When the main character is overly glorified and is just a dumbass.
•When there's no context and a story just jumps like 4 years into the future and all of a sudden there's a whole ass family, like i wanna know what happened??!
•When a story goes too fast, like they meet at a bar they have a few drinks and a few hours later they're confessing their love, i need to see the love build up over time for it to feel real.
•This doesn't really turn me off, maybe i'm just a hoe but like when there isn't smut that's very disappointing to me.
•When there IS smut but there's no foreplay, like it doesn't have the same effect if there's no foreplay or teasing. *not too much not too little*
•When the format of the story is weird, like no need to be pretentious, just use the normal freaking format.
•When there's too many spaces between sentences, like there's a space in between each sentence, it gets tiring for my eyes.
•Last but not least, grammar, i can understand a few spelling mistakes, but when the grammar is like really REALLY bad it just make me not want to read anymore, for example using things like "u" instead of "you" in a story, like you aren't texting your friends this is a STORY FOR GOD SAKE.
•Time skips, this is kinda like the 3rd one except when it skips like 2 minutes, it just makes you seem like a lousy writer and it's disturbs the flow of the book.
So yeah maybe you can relate to some of these. Maybe i'll post all the things that make me happy when reading a story, but i'm kinda lazy so we'll see.
