Thanks for adding "Journey Home" to your reading list, Kewetso, I appreciate it. As for becoming a great poet one has to practice, read the greats (both living, and dead), read every day, write every day, and edit, reedit, and then rewrite (repeat the process until it is perfect). Keep the tools of the poet close to your heart, study the styles, keep a dictionary, thesaurus, and rhyming dictionary close to you, and make sure every word is the exact word to fulfill the meaning you intended, not one word more or less, (wordiness will make a great poem mediocre). Also, keep a file of the best poetry writing sites on your computer, and make sure they are from universities, not poetry sites. Never be in a rush to publish or upload a poem before it is ready, but with patience wait until it meet the goals of your mind’s eye. LPF, Olan.
