There's the guy who you made eye contact with across the highway while you both waited for a time to cross. You made a silent agreement that when he goes, you go, and vice versa. And then you went and the moment was over. But his life kept going. Who knows? Maybe he was a star of some show you never heard of before. Maybe he was on the brink of some cancer-curing research.
There's the lady you passed seven times at Walmart, and you kind of made that awkward acknowledgement by purposely skipping the aisle she was in even though that was the bread aisle, and you came there for bread.
There's the little boy who thinks the world of his dad as he gets carried on his shoulders at the school track meet, but you know that dad is a jerk that knows your dad from work. And maybe one day that little boy will realize it. Probably in his teen years.
There's the little girl, swinging on the swing-set, staring at you but refusing to talk. You wave awkwardly with a smile on your face and she runs over to her mother like she saw a predator lurking beneath your eyes.
There's the cashier at a gas station that asks one too many questions about your personal life. There's the old man who no one can really understand but you smile and nod anyway because that's polite. There's the man you brought back his wallet for, and you recognized him online in an article about Nobel Peace Prizes or something, but you really can't put his name to face, not for certain. There's the woman at the park that wore a big, and I mean big, feather hat that you waited to blow away with the next breeze.
There's a lot of people in this world, and they all have their own stories. Probably really fascinating, really deep, really amazing. But you just found a writer whose imagination soars. And you can expect that she's pretty special because I just ignored over seven billion others who also live on this world with stories to tell.
And she's only getting started.
