Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is an American live-action superhero children's television series that premiered on August 28, 1993, on the Fox Kids weekday afternoon block (later weekend morning block). It is the first entry of the Power Rangers franchise.  In the 25 years Power Rangers has been on the air, it has produced over 24 seasons, the latest being Power Rangers Ninja Steel which airs on Nick. 

In 2014 it was announced that Lionsgate along with Saban would be rebooting the series with a brand new cast.  The film stars Dacre Montgomery, Naomi Scott, RJ Cyler, Becky G, Ludi Lin, Bill Hader, Bryan Cranston and Elizabeth Banks. In the film, Zordon recruits five high school students to form a team that must stop an alien threat led by the witch Rita Repulsa. The film also features the first LGBTQ character along with the first Autistic character.
