Not book related but asking for a friend. is it nornal for male teachers to call their students beautiful, and tell them that there his favorite student, tell them that they have an amazing personality, let them run their fingers thru his hair, ask for opinions on what to get his parents for christmas, and just talk about deeply personal things with a student?

In my opinion, no, not even if you have a good rapport with a teacher, that’s not appropriate at all. The only one that might be okay depending on the teacher & environment of your is asking for opinions/ideas for christmas gifts.
