First of all, congrats, dear❤️!!! That’s honestly such a big deal and it means people really love your story! The fact that someone wants to turn it into a comic says a lot about how impactful your writing is!
As for what to do, this is just my personal take. For me, I handle everything in black and white. Clear and official. Even when someone wants to translate my work and do collaboration work, I ask them to fill out a form and sign it, kind of like a mini contract. Just to protect both sides and make sure everything’s clear from the start.
Everything needs to be stated properly, like whether they will earn any profit from it, how credit will be given and what kind of rights they will have over the final product. It doesn’t have to be super complicated, just enough so there are no misunderstandings later on. Your work is your baby, so it’s 100% okay to be cautious❤️
